List of Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Care:
    • Coordinate, develop and implement customer training including written documentation, videos, and training session agendas
    • Coordinate and schedule field service appointments and machine installations.
    • Ensure all service issues are tracked, assigned, and quickly resolved
    • Ensure that all equipment receives timely preventative maintenance
    • Monitor dashboard for customer parts usage
    • Update customer contacts
  • Staff Development:
    • Manage, mentor, train, and develop Assembly and Field Service Technicians
    • Establish goals and incentives to develop independent Assembly and Technical Support Teams
    • Document and regularly review professional development plans for all team members
    • Maintain a skills matrix for all team members
    • Develop PLC/Controls proficiency in your department to enable basic troubleshooting and minor program updates
  • Organizational Tracking and Development
    • Project manage and coordinate all machine builds/rebuilds from inception through installation using established scheduling tools
    • Develop relevant metrics and key performance indicators and create plans to improve these numbers (e.g. machine build times, service issue resolution times)
    • Develop an issue tracking regimen for both assembly and field service that includes assimilation of build and installation issues, prioritization and cost/benefit analysis of resolution, and rectification processes
    • Assess, document, and improve machine build workflow by implementing appropriate Lean manufacturing techniques
    • Coordinate and assist in shop and facility improvements and maintenance.
    • Attend operations and management meetings.
    • Review/approve shop time reporting
    • Assist Finance in tracking fixed assets
    • Manage the shop and service budgets
  • Technical Documentation
    • Coordinate, develop and implement technical training and practices
    • Manage the development of technical documentation including, but not limited to, internal processes, technical bulletins, set-up procedures, troubleshooting techniques, maintenance procedures, and process checklists.

Experience & Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with industrial machinery
  • Experience with A/C and Servo motors, pneumatics, and PLC based controls
  • “Hands-On” experience as electro-mechanical or field service technician
  • Skilled with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and electrical/pneumatic schematics
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Industrial Food Processing experience
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley controls
  • Two-year technical degree or better
  • Previous management experience
  • Understanding of and experience with ERP/MRP systems

Travel & Salary:

Position requires 5%-10% travel. Excellent pay and benefits determined upon qualifications
